Vincent Peirani and Emile Parisien have received the prestigious French jazz award „Victoires du Jazz“. Emile Parisien was elected „musician of the year“ and Vincent Peirani received the award as “rising star of the year”. The award ceremony took place on June 13th in Paris.
Since 2003 the “Victoires du Jazz” takes place as a branch of the music prize “Victoires de la Musique”. The jury consists of 25 music business professionals. Past awardees include Michel Petrucciani, Richard Galliano, Jacky Terrasson, Richard Bona, Madeleine Peyroux, Esbjörn Svensson, Norah Jones and Dee Dee Bridgewater.
The award is another highlight of two unparalleled success stories: Vincent Peirani and Emile Parisien have already received the French jazz award “Prix Django Reinhardt” (Parisien 2012, Peirani 2013). Moreover Vincent Peirani was elected “artist of the year” by the most important French jazz magazine “Jazzman / Jazz Magazine” and received the German “ECHO Jazz 2014” award.
Together Vincent Peirani and Emile Parisien appear on their current ACT album “Belle Époque”. On September 28th Emile Pasisien’s new album “Special Snack” will be released on ACT.
